Historical achievement: Appraisement-East surpasses target by Rs5.032 billion in May

KARACHI: The Model Customs Collectorate Appraisement-East has surpassed the revenue target by Rs 5.032 billion marking an historic achievement in May of current fiscal year 2014-15.

According to revenue statistics, the Appraisement-East has collected total revenue of Rs 22.096 billion against the set target of Rs17.063 billion with the massive surplus of Rs 5.032 billion during the said period.

The collectorate has collected an amount of Rs 7.259 billion in share of custom duty against the set target of Rs 5.235 billion with an increase of Rs 2.024 billion.

Similarly, Appraisement-East has collected Rs 11.284 billion in share of sales tax against the set target of Rs 9.624 billion with an increase of Rs 1.660 billion.

It has further collected an amount of Rs 3.395 billion in share of income tax against the set target of Rs 2.134 billion with a surplus of Rs 1.260 billion by the end of May-2015.

The Appraisement-East has collected revenue of Rs 156.23million in May in share as federal excise duty against the set target of Rs 69.15 million with a sharp increase of Rs 87.08 million.

It is pertinent to mention here that it is the second consecutive turn that the Appraisement-East has surpassed the revenue targets in all heads which included custom duty, sales tax, income tax and federal excise duty.

As per details, the Appraisement-East had collected total revenue of Rs 19.939 billion against the set target of Rs 15.165 billion during the last month, April and surpassed the revenue target by Rs 4.774 billion.

Chief Collector Appraisement-South, Nasir Masroor Ahmed and Collector Appraisement-East Manzoor Hussain Memon lauded the efforts of the officials and officers of the collectorate who took part in the revenue collection.

The both high-ups hoped that the authorities concerned of the collectorate will continue the same efforts by the end of the fiscal year 2014-15 in order to surpass the revenue targets.

Sources said that the Collector Appraisement-East Manzoor Hussain Memon has also recommended the reward money for the officials and officers of the collectorate for surpassing the revenue targets in all revenue heads.
