Viber can be described as a free-calling application, which is more than simply an instant messaging platform. Anyone using this app is able to make free voice and video calls, as well as free instant messages, therefore Viber is incredibly worldwide successful. There is also a large choice of stickers for spicing up your texts and you can get a tablet and a PC version of Viber as well. On top of all that, Viber is the only messaging app with the feature that allows the users to make affordable calls to those who aren’t using Viber.

Whatsapp

This messenger app was launched in 2009 and has gained a huge popularity since then. It is now the most popular and used application regarding the instant messaging world. In April 2015, Whatsapp counted around 800 million users in its service, which is more than any other messaging app. Once Facebook took over this app, some new features and functions were introduced, such as the appearance of blue ticks, which indicate that your texts have been seen, as well as the introduction of voice calling service to Whatsapp.

WeChat

This app is a Chinese start-up that managed to spread its services to more than 400 million people over five continents. Like Viber and Whatsapp, WeChat also provides you with free messaging and it is on the same page with Viber, when it comes to free calling. But, WeChat boasts some unique features, like the onne which allows you to search and find new friends. Users of WeChat have the ability of using features such as ‘Drift a bottle’ and ‘Shake your bottle’ in order to join with random and new people who use this application as well. Furthermore, your conversations over WeChat can be livelier if you use a massive sticker market which is exclusive for WeChat. Meanwhile, the feature called WeChat Moments allows you to share your best photo moments with your friends.

Line

Similar to Skype and WeChat, Line offers its users free video and voice calling services and it uses the same registration process as WeChat, meaning that the Line users have to ensure their phone numbers, which will be utilized as the account ID. Compared to applications like Viber and WeChat, Line has the largest choice and collection of stickers. Also, an interesting feature is a smart sticker solution that studies your conversations in order to predict your present mood.
