KARACHI: The Directorate of Reforms and Automation (R&A) has nearly completed its working on vehicle assessment module and SRO492 module linked with exports.

The FBR sources informed Customs Today that both the modules related to vehicle assessment and SRO492 (export orientation) would be rolled out in the month of July, 2014.

It is pertinent to mention here that the SRO492 is purely linked with exports and re-export of accessories.

“By the implementation of SRO492, WeBOC will definitely facilitate the exports, as exporters can assess their Goods Declaration (GD) electronically through automated computerized system”, sources added.

Commenting on vehicle assessment module, the sources informed this scribe that the importers can determine the values of old vehicles online after the implementation of “Vehicle Assessment Modules in WeBOC.”

“The Directorate of Reforms and Automation has formed a special type of GD namely “Vehicle Baggage” in the WeBOC for the facilitation of the importers”, it added.

The sources further said that the importers before the introduction of vehicle assessment module were filing their GDs manually, but after the implementation of the said module they can file their GDs electronically after assessing the values.
