Rs48.2m illegal contract: NAB files reference against eight PR, PSM officials

LAHORE: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Lahore zone has filed a reference in the accountability court against eight officials of the Railways, Pakistan Steel Mills and two contractors for illegally awarding a Rs48.2 million contract for the purchase of 5,000 metric ton of pig iron.

The NAB spokesman said that investigation proceedings into the case involving misappropriation of Rs48.2 million were initiated in December 2013. Subsequently a couple of days ago the NAB executive board approved filing of the reference against the accused.
