Customs Adjudication orders to release seized cloth‏

MULTAN: Deputy Collector Customs Adjudication has issued orders to release the smuggled art silk cloth measuring 1,765 yards.

Anti -Smuggling Organization Multan had seized the smuggled cloth during an operation in Multan. The owner had failed to prove any import evidences of the seized cloth.

During the hearing of the case, the owner says that he is willing to pay customs duty as assessed by the Multan Customs.  After the willingness from owner for the payment of customs duty and taxes the Customs Adjudication issued Order in Original No.148/2015 for the release of smuggled cloth after the payment of taxes.

In the light of the Order in Original the Model Collectorate of Customs Multan released the smuggled art silk cloth of Indian origin after the payment of worth Rs 50, 000 customs duties assed by the Multan Dry Port from the owners.

Anti-Smuggling Organisation Superintendent Tanvir Ahmad Malik has also directed the customs warehouse that they have no objection over the release of smuggled cloth after the payment of customs duty.
