Customs confiscates two non-duty paid vehicles

ISLAMABAD: The quick response force of Directorate of Intelligence and Investigation-Customs, Rawalpindi has confiscated two non-duty paid cars on tip-offs. FIRs have been registered in both cases.

CIF value of both cars amounts to Rs 4.5 million. One of the cars was Toyota Hi-Ace numbered IDT 1513 which was taken into custody at a fuelling station on GT Road near Tarnol. It was full of passengers from North Waziristan who have been restricted from travelling outside Bannu, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

On checking the documents of the van, it came into notice of the officials that no duty/tax was paid on the vehicle. On this the rapid response force of the directorate confiscated the car.

The other car was seized at railway station in Rawalpindi for being non-duty paid. The car, Toyota Lexus, did not have registration number on its plate. Instead UR 2014 i.e. under registration was written on the number plate.
