LAHORE: Pakistani transports, including trailers and heavy transporters and drivers are observing strike against India and demanding release of Pakistani driver Ali Khan who is being held in India.
Strike is continued from Friday on call of Wagha Trailers Association. Yesterday protesters blocked the GT Road and protested against India while on Saturday they show solidarity with their colleague Ali Khan by blocking the supplies to India.
Pakistani driver was arrested by the Indian police two months ago on the charges of killing an Indian laborer in a road accident at the Attari station near Wagha. According to details, the Pakistani driver carried a trailer of gypsum to India, and during unloading of the consignment, an Indian laborer died there.
Now, the Indian Court has granted him bail but he is still in Indian police custody. The transporters and drivers demanded the government to take notice of the illegal detention of the Pakistani driver by Indian police and ensure his return to his homeland as soon as possible.
