BEJING: BOE showcased the ultimate 82-inch display screen which has more than 44 million pixels with a 10K resolution i.e. 10240×4320 pixels at the Display Week Conference 2015.

The newest ultra-UHD display has almost 21 times more pixels than the regular HD LCD that we adore today. Although we are rarely able to find 4K supported content, think if would it be possible to find 10K resolution content (although the content does exist but it is difficult to find innumerable displays).

This new invention is announced almost 5 months after BOE released the 110-inch 8K resolution display. The company made the world’s largest display with 8K then, and now has gained the title of first 10K display in the world.

The 82-inch screen has an aspect ratio of 21:9 with an ultra wide display. So how did they reach their goal from 7680×4320 pixels (8K) to 10240×4320 pixels (10K)? Well the answer is pretty simple, they took their 8K 16:9 display and made it wider.

What we usually see is the South Korean companies coming up with such innovations, but this first ever is being introduced by a Chinese company which provides panels for mobiles, monitors and TVs. This first step towards the display first of its kind technology – can be beneficial for the entire Chinese display industry.

The 21:9 display is manufactured for high quality video broadcast and picture display, for instance in museums and art galleries. Just imagine the kind of image and video quality we will have in the near future. We are already very much pleased with our regular HD displays, now just multiply that with 21. Must be incredible!
