Singapore stocks start 0.1% weaker, STI down 4.08pts

SINGAPORE: Singapore shares opened 0.1 per cent lower as at 9.02 am on Tuesday, with the Straits Times Index down 4.08 points to 3,316.25 following overnight declines in the US market.

The Jardine group of companies were lower right out of the gate, dragging the index lower. Jardine Matheson Holdings slipped 0.5 per cent or 31 US cents to trade at US$59.69, while Jardine Strategic Holdings was 0.4 per cent or 12 US cents lower at US$32.13.
