Abid Sher vows to weed out corruption from Wapda

SUKKUR: State Minister for Water and Power Abid Sher Ali has vowed to eradicate corruption from the Wapda, saying he would not compromise on power theft as it is his major duty to control the electricity theft.

The state minister said this, while talking to media at the Arain Grid Station. He said that meter readers have become millionaires by being involved in corruption, adding that they leased out the meter reading work to others. He said no doubt meter readers and other staff of Wapda is involved in corruption, which is ruining the Authority. He said that he had suspended several Wapda officials for their involvement in corruption.
