Multan Excise impounds 206 token tax defaulters, unregistered vehicles

MULTAN: The Excise and Taxation Multan has impounded 206 vehicles during an operation against token tax defaulters and unregistered vehicles in the region.

The operation was launched on the directives of Director Excise and Taxation Multan, Jam Siraaj Ahmed in which motor branch held 206 vehicles after challan in Multan City.

officials of Excise and Taxation told Customs Today that actions against the unregistered and token tax defaulter has been geared up to generate more revenue by the end of current fiscal year 2014-15 and to meet the assigned target.

The officials added that Director Jam Siraaj formed almost 22 team different team to conduct operation against the defaulters in the region.

Excise and Taxation Officer (ETO) Fakhar Zaman and ETO Jalil Ur Rehman supervised the operation, while Inspector Azhar Khurshid Khan, Inspector Najam Saqib, Azhar Niazi and others took part in operation which was conducted in different areas including Bosan road, Mumtazabad,  Suraj Miani, Vehari Road, Basti Malok and Muzaffarabad bypass.

As many as 1045 vehicles and motorcycles were checked, while 206 vehicles were challaned. Almost 84 unregistered vehicles and 122 short of token tax were locked into various police stations of the Multan City.

Excise and Taxation department Multan has collected Rs 4.263 million of revenue from the 206 vehicles during the crackdown in the Multan City.
