SINGAPORE: The Central Narcotics Bureau (CNB) rounded up 103 suspected drug offenders in a four-day islandwide operation that ended this morning.
Drugs seized during the blitz included about 88g of heroin, 9g of “Ice” or methamphetamine, and a small amount of cannabis and opium powder, the agency said today.
In one of the operations carried out around dawn , CNB officers arrested a 62-year-old Singaporean man in Bedok North and are investigating him for drug trafficking. The CNB said he had about 37g of heroin and 4g of “Ice” on him. Officers found more drugs at his home. They seized a small amount of heroin and “numerous” drug paraphernalia, including an improvised drug-smoking apparatus.
The areas covered in the raids include Ang Mo Kio, Bedok, Boon Lay, Bukit Panjang, Choa Chu Kang, Geylang, Marsiling, Teck Whye and Woodlands. The CNB said investigations on all the suspects are ongoing.
