Iron Market Trade Association welcomes Rs 1.35 decreases in electricity rates

LAHORE: Traders of iron market welcomed the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority’s (NEPRA) suggestion for cut electricity rates by Rs 1.35 per unit in wake of fuel adjustment from April.

Executive member of Lahore Chamber Of Commerce and Industry and Senior Vice President of Iron Market Trade Association, Raja Adeel said that decrease in electricity rate by Rs 2.08 per unit in March in wake of fuel adjustment provided relief to public and helped to control inflation in the country.

He said that high rates of electricity caused inflation as it affected the production cost, adding that cheap electricity will develop the business opportunities in the region.

He suggested that government should work on new energy projects to make it available all over the day and year.
