No penalty on vehicle token tax in Punjab until June 30

LAHORE: The Punjab government has waived fine on token tax until June 30, and now the citizens can pay tax without any extra charges.

According to a circular issued by the Punjab Excise, no fine will be received from defaulters of token tax. Now, owners of vehicles that are less than 1,000 cc can get their token cleared by only paying their net amount of Rs 10,000, which is a lifetime token tax. Vehicles more than 1000 cc and less than 1,300 cc will have to pay Rs 1,800 for the token tax of 2015-16, vehicles more than 1,300 cc and less than 1,500 cc can get token tax clearance by paying only Rs 6,000.  From 1500 to 2000 cc vehicles owners can get their token tax ticket by paying Rs 9,000, which is the net amount for the year of 2015-16 and no fine will be charged on it.
