Karachi: Customs seizes 3 kilograms of gold from lady smuggler

KARACHI: The Model Customs Collectorate-MCC Preventive, in its recent action at Jinnah International Airport, has arrested a woman who tried to smuggle three kilogram of gold ornaments/jewelry of different types and style from Dubai.

According to details, a team of MCC-Preventive, during its routine duty, observed that a woman who had arrived from Dubai by Emirates flight was walked in the arrival lodge in a strange manner.

On suspicion, the team stopped the woman and asked for physical checking. During thee physical body search, the Customs authorities found three kilogram of gold ornaments/jewelry under her trousers (‘shalwar’).

The Customs authorities, after recovering the gold ornaments/jewelry, evaluated that the woman was trying to smuggle 240 tola (three kilogram) of gold worth millions of rupees.

The Customs authorities confirmed that a seizure report has been prepared by the officials after registering a case under Section 2(s) of the Customs Act, 1969.
