Privatization Commission’s chief to chair ICAP’s post budget seminar

KARACHI: Minister of State and Chairman Privatization Commission, Mohammad Zubair will chair a session, being organized as Post Budget Seminar by the Southern Regional Committee (SRC) of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan (ICAP) here on Thursday.

The primary objective is to discuss and deliberate on the possible consequences of the Federal Budget 2015-16 on the economy of Pakistan, said the organizers here on Wednesday.

Former Caretaker Finance Minister, Dr. Salman Shah will share his views on the “Impact of 2015-16 Budget on the Economy of Pakistan,” on the occasion.

This would be followed by presentations on “Key Changes Proposed in Direct Tax Regime,” by Saqib Masood, FCA, Member, ICAP Taxation Committee and Adnan Mufti, FCA, Partner, Shekha & Mufti Chartered Accountants “Key Changes Proposed in Indirect Tax Regime”.

A panel discussion will follow to highlight various aspects of the budget and the proposed way forward.

Among the panelists will be Syed Shabbar Zaidi, FCA, Partner, A.F. Ferguson & Co. Chartered Accountants, Naeem Akhter Sheikh, FCA, Chairman, ICAP Taxation Committee, Khalid Mansoor, Chief Executive, The Hub Power Company Limited (HUBCO) and Iftikhar Allawala, Director National Bank of Pakistan and Specialty Printers.
