HELSINKI: The third Midnight Pitch Fest, a two-day event, begins at the Oulu City Theatre on Thursday. Midnight Pitch Fest (MPF) is a pitching and the world’s northern most start-up event, which focuses on bringing together start-up companies and investors.

In the event this year Thursday will focus on start-ups and Friday on innovation, 3D and gaming, the organisers said. The fest offers the start-ups a great chance to get visibility, pitch their ideas in front of a wide range of investors and audience. They also get direct access to investors through matchmaking services available at the event. Respectively, investors are able to assess at one go a large number of companies and business ideas. And of course, all attendees get a good opportunity to network with similar-minded people who have great business ideas, a ‘can-do’ attitude and guts to follow it through.

The pitching start-up companies are currently lining up and are expected to represent many business domains. This year the event is especially looking for start-ups that are in early stages of their progress and show promises. Thus, the selection process by the MPF committee will favour companies which have strong aspiration to grow with a scalable business model. The organisers said a grand prize of 10,000 euro in cash will be given to the winning pitch this year.
