LISBON: Police at Lisbon airport have this week arrested a passenger travelling from São Paulo, Brazil to Amsterdam and who was found to be carrying 59 pellets of cocaine inside his body.
He was detained at Portela Airport and had to be taken to hospital to undergo surgery to remove the smuggled drugs.
In total 58 pellets were seized, for a total of just over 1,024 grams of cocaine, along with a packet containing 113.07 grams of cocaine. Police also confiscated 1,000 dollars in cash, five Brazilian Reais and a mobile phone.
