Sind Budget 2015-16: Govt announces 10% ad hoc relief allowance employees

KARACHI: A ten percent ad hoc relief allowance on running basic pay will be allowed to all Sindh Government employees with effect from July 2015, said the Provincial Finance Minister, Syed Murad Ali Shah, in his budget speech on Saturday.

Sharing details of the raise in pays and allowances for the provincial government employees, he said ad-hoc increases of 2011-2012 will be merged in the pay scale. Moreover, medical allowance will be enhanced by 25 percent from next fiscal year, he added.

One pre-mature increment will be allowed to employees of Grade-5 with effect from July 01, 2015, while a uniform PhD allowance of Rs.10,000 will be allowed to PhD/ DSc degree holders working under the Sindh government in next fiscal year.

This, the minister said, will replace the existing Science and Technology Allowance of Rs.7,500 per month and PhD allowance of Rs.2,250 per month.

For the welfare of labour class and in line with the increase in the pay of government employees, the minimum wage rate is also being increased from Rs.12,000 to Rs.13,000, he said
