ISLAMABAD: Member Inland Revenue Policy and FBR Official Spokesperson Shahid Hussain Asad has been given look-after charge of FBR Chairman during the leave period of Tariq Bajwa, FBR Chairman/Secretary Revenue Division w.e.f. 18th July, 2014 to 14th August, 2014.
It is worthy to mention here that Customs Today had already mentioned in its story published on Saturday about Shahid Hussain Asad’s taking charge of acting FBR chairman during Tariq Bajwa’s visit to the US. Now, FBR has issued the notification of look-after charge of Shahid Hussain Asad till August 14, the same period when Tariq Bajwa is out of the country. As per Customs Today correspondent, Shahid Hussain Asad is also the strongest candidate to become the next FBR chairman. This long duration of almost one month of look-after charge leads us to believe that the government has given this time period to Shahid Hussain Asad to get settled at this key position of the revenue body to eventually hold this post after Tariq Bajwa’s appointment as Finance Secretary in the middle of August.
