LAHORE: The Special Court of Customs Taxation and Anti-Smuggling heard 28 important cases on Tuesday, including pre-arrest bail pleas.
These cases, including tax evasion, customs, smuggling and narcotics, were scheduled for the day’s hearing. Three cases of pre-arrest bail pleas were also scheduled for the day, in which Akramul Haq, Sharif Javaid and Muhammad Saeed Bhatti approached the Customs Court for their pre-arrest bails.
The court adjourned their pleas for the next dates. The court also proceeded on recording statements of witnesses in five different cases. The cases of smuggling were also part of the day’s schedule, in which the court recorded the statements of the parties. In some cases, the Customs Court recorded the witnesses’ statements and issued necessary directives.
