Hyderabad ASO confiscates 67 cartons of smuggled shampoo

HYDERABAD: The Anti-Smuggling Organisation (ASO) has seized 67 cartons of smuggled shampoos of different brands worth Rs 687,850, involving duty/taxes amounting to Rs 378,400.

According to details, the ASO team following a tip-off received through Model Customs Collectorate Hyderabad Collector Dr Ahmad Mujtaba Memon conducted a raid to foil a smuggling bid under the supervision of Additional Collector Omer Shafique and Assistant Collector Shahid Iqbal.

The ASO team held a passenger bus of Madina Coach Service, Hyderabad, near Jamshoro toll plaza and recovered 5,486 bottles of shampoo, including 2,772 bottles of Pantene brand of various sizes, 895 bottles of shampoos of Clear brand and also recovered 1,819 bottles of Johnson’s Baby brand.

The ASO team asked about the ownership of the said items, but no one claimed the ownership of the items, on which 67 cartons of shampoos were confiscated under the customs law.

The ASO team comprising Deputy Superintendent Sikander Akbar Panhwar, Inspector Khair Mohammad Pathan, Inspector Momin Shah, Arif Raj Pot, Musthque Ali Lahko and other staff conducted the raid.
