ASO Jhang seizes cumin seed bags worth Rs 1,000,000

FAISALABAD: The Anti-Smuggling Organisation has seized foreign origin cumin seeds bags consisting CIF value of Rs 2,50,000 and market value of Rs 1,000,000.

According to details, Collectorate, Model Customs Faisalabad received a credible information about smuggling of above said cumin seeds. Soon after receiving the information, Collectorate Tauseef Ahmed Qureshi formed a team comprising  Umer bin Zaffer Chattah, Assistant Collector, Model Customs Collectorate Faisalabad, Zahid Raza Bukhari (Superintendent), Mujahid Abbas, Asghar Mehdi Naqvi (Inspectors) Zulfiqar Ali, Ziaullah Cheema and Mohammad Ajmal Sepoy.

The raiding party intercepted the vehicles near tehsil Athara Hazari, District Jhang and recovered 2500 kilograms of cumin seeds bags. The raiding party asked the driver Rehmatullah son of Haji Allah Dad to produce legal documents but he failed to do so.

Upon his failure to provide legal documents, customs party seized the cumin seed bags. Further investigations are underway.
