Afghan route closure weighs on Pakistan-Central Asia trade, exports fall 9%, imports plunge 88%

LAHORE: A two member Chinese delegation led by Vice Chairman Sub Council of Chinese Chemical Industry Ma Chunyan called on LCCI President Engineer Sohail Lashari and briefed him about CAC Pakistan Summit and Pak-China Agro Chemical Expo scheduled from August 5-6 at Lahore Expo Center.
LCCI Senior Vice President Mian Tariq Misbah and Coordinator of the exhibition Jawed Salim Qureshi were also present in the meeting.
The two-member delegation briefed the LCCI office-bearers about the participants of the exhibition and the objectives behind the summit. They said that the objective of this mega event was to revolutionize Pakistan’s agriculture sector by providing it with latest and cheaper solutions to the problems.
The Vice Chairman Sub Council of Chinese Chemical Industry Ma Chunyan said that it was not only the pesticide related researchers who are taking part in the exhibition but the businessmen belonging to agriculture machinery and fertilizers will also be joining this exhibition that is first of its kind in Pakistan.
Speaking on the occasion, the LCCI President Engineer Sohail Lashari said that the Lahore Chamber of Commerce has taken the initiative to hold this rare exhibition and summit to strengthen the agriculture sector where the productivity is almost stagnant for the last many years.
