President Khawaja Muhammad Faazil, along with Ansar Khan Babar and Sheikh Pervaiz Akhtar, was also present during the meeting with other executive members to consult and make decisions on taxes situation. They have discussed the implementation of sales tax on edible oil.

Khawaja Muhammad Faazil have appealed the government that they should continue the sale tax on purchase of seed cake which will ensure the 100% recovery from oil mills association. He told that their legitimate demands will assist the farmers in the assurance of their full reward and that step will also reduce the import bill of edible oil in the country.

President Khawaja Muhammad Faazil (APOMA) has appealed to Finance Minister and Chairman Federal Board of Revenue that implementation of sales tax on the purchase of cotton seed cake tax should be applied through SRO 188.  Through the application of SRO 188 the recovery of 100% tax collection can be possible from more than five thousand oil mills exists in the Pakistan otherwise it becomes very tough to recover the taxes.

He appealed to Federal Board of Revenue that sale taxes on mustard seed and sunflower must be removed otherwise it is not possible for government to collect taxes from more than five thousand oil mills in the country. He told that government have already very bad experience of tax collection on the sunflower seed and mustard seed in the past.

The Federal Board of Revenue also needed to take notice of their tax officials activities who are involved in harassing oil mill owners for the payment of excess taxes before the final decision of tribunal concludes in their appeal cases.

He requested the government that collection of taxes from those oil mills owners must be stopped until their cases concludes from the tribunal against their outstanding taxes.

Government have applied the 35% withholding taxes on the purchase of mustard seed and sunflower seed because a supplier cannot pay the 35% withholding taxes by charging 1% commission on the purchases he added.

He requested from all members of APOMA to pay their sale tax of seed before the 30th June for the economic year 2014-15.
