PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chamber of Commerce and Industries President Fawad Ishaq has said that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa produces 3600 MW electricity, but the province is facing severe load shedding, particularly in Industrial state Hayatabad Peshawar.
Addressing a Press conference at Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chamber of Commerce and Industries , KPCCI president Fawad Ishaq said that during the past 35 years in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa militancy and terrorism affected the lives of many people, adding that around 800 small and big industries have been closed down because of load shedding and terrorism .
He further said that only 165 megawatt power needed to the industrial state Hayatabad Peshawar but that were also not fulfilled by the PESCO authorities, adding that every after one hour there was load shedding in Industrial state.
He informed that if this kind of continuous load shedding was carry on in the province and specially in Hayatabad industrial estate then there might be increase in unemployment and terrorism in the province, adding and demanded that PESCO should take some steps and provide power to the industrial state.
On the provincial budget for 2015-16 fiscal year of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Fawad Ishaq said that government did not include their recommendations in the provincial budget.
On this occasion Haytabad Industrial Estate president Ghazanfar Bilour and Vice president of KPCCI Haji Iqbal Afridi demanded that if the PESCO not end the power shortage then they will came on the roads and will also knock the door of judiciary for their rights.
