Faisalabad ASO seizes 357 pieces of smuggled flow meters for fuel dispenser

FAISALABAD: The Customs Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) Faisalabad has seized the already held flow meter for fuel dispenser as no one appeared before the competent authority to prove the legal import of the items.

As per details, ASO team had captured the said items on information received through Collector Tauseef Ahamad Qureshi in an action.

The ASO raiding team intercepted a mini truck bearing Registration No. LES-07-5448 near Millat Chaowk Sheikhpura Road, Faisalabad and recovered 293 units of small size flow meter for fuel dispenser and 64 units of large size worth Rs 755,916.

The ASO staff asked the drive to produce any documentary evidence showing the legal import and lawful possession. But he could not produce any documents relating to its legal import or lawful on which customs took all items and truck in custody and serve notice upon accused to appear before the court.

But after passage of considerable time no one appeared before the seizing agency to claim ownership of seized goods, as well as no proof of its legal import/lawful possession was produced on which customs seized the flow meter for fuel dispenser worth Rs 755,916 and also impounded the truck worth Rs 500,000.
