DHAKA: Customs department at Dhaka’s Shahjalal International Airport has seized medicines worth Tk 6 million here the other day.
Assistant Commissioner of Dhaka Customs House Md Shahiduzzaman Sarkar said the medicines were confiscated from the airport’s cargo area on here the other noon.
He told media that the medicines were concealed inside the packages of imported garments.
Among the seized drugs, there were three types of medicine which are banned and the others were brought without proper import permission.
“The estimated market price of the seized consignment is Tk 6 million,” said the customs official.
Investigation is on to locate the importer of the apparels, he added.
