According to rumors, Google will release two Nexus devices this year, one made by LG that will has the codename „LG Bullhead” which is believed to be the Nexus 5 (2015) and another device made by Huawei, which will be the Nexus 6’s successor and it is codenamed “Huawei Angler”. Both of these devices are expected to be released this year, in October or November.

Nexus 6 successor to feature a smaller display?

It seems that Google learned from its mistakes and will not repeat them. Nexus 6 came with a 6inch display which is 1inch bigger than the Nexus 5. That was surely a big leap that was not quite necessary and was one of the main reasons which made a lot of Nexus fans to stick with the Nexus 5. Most smartphones manufactures are usually increasing the displays of the new smartphones by up to 0.2inch or something like that, but not 1inch.

The Nexus 5 that came with a 5inch display was sold pretty well before it got discontinued. The device was sold pretty well, even without a discount, so we’re pretty sure that Google had a huge shock when they’ve noticed the Nexus 6 is not doing so well.

Specs

According to new rumors, the successor of Nexus 6 will feature a 5.7inch display which is 0.3inch smaller than the latest Nexus device. Usually, you will never see a successor of a smartphone featuring a smaller display, but we’re pretty sure that Google know what they did wrong with the Nexus 6 device and they don’t want to have the same “surprise” with this upcoming device.

In concordance with MobiPicker, the upcoming Nexus 5 (2015) will feature a Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 processor and a 2700 mAh battery while the successor of nexus 6 will most likely feature a 5.6inch OLED screen that will support a resolution of 2560×1440 pixels, a Snapdragon 810 processor and a 3500 mAh battery. Both devices are expected to come with the upcoming Android M OS out of the box.
