BEJING: Elephone P8000 was a small upgrade compared to its predecessor, but its successor called P9000 seems to be a more solid upgrade. First of all, this new phone will be among the first ones to use the MediaTek Helio X20 processor clocked at 2.0 GHz, which features 10 cores and it has outperformed the competition in benchmark tests. The IPS screen still measures 5.5 inches in its diagonal and keeps a Full HD resolution, but the amount of RAM has been upgraded to 4GB. Its internal memory has also increased to 32 GB and it’s expandable by Micro SD cards. The cameras both feature more resolutions, in the back a 20.7-megapixel Sony sensor will be found and an 8-megapixel camera is located in the front. The battery has a capacity of 3,100 mAh, but it is removable this time around.

The dimensions of the handset are 152.6 x 76.2 x 8 mm, so it is a little more compact than its predecessor and a little thinner. The price of the P9000 is marked at $499.99 being a little more expensive than expected, but the hardware might get upgraded to make it worth it, perhaps more metal will be used in its construction and a more durable glass could cover the screen. The release date is set to October 20th, a little earlier than expected by the company behind the processor.
