According to Nguyen Phu Ha, head of the MPI’s Department of National Economy, the country’s six-month economic growth continues the recovery trend.

Industry-construction sector sees the sharpest increase at 8.36 percent year-on-year. Meanwhile, growth in service is likely to reach 6.16 percent and that of agro-forestry-fishery hits 2.16 percent year-on-year, the MPI official said.

Vietnam’s GDP expansion in the first half has been close to the set target for GDP hike this year at 6.2 percent, due to improvements in domestic demand, according to MPI.

During the six-month period, total retail sale revenue is forecast to see a year-on-year increase of 9.76 percent, higher than that of 5.7 percent in the same period of 2014.
