KARACHI: Importers are facing difficulties and hardships because shipping companies are not delivering their consignments in time and process of consignments clearance are also consuming too much time.
Talking to Customs Today, an importer Mohammad Saleem Anwar complained that during the holy month of Ramazan shipping companies fixed 1pm for delivery of consignments but most of the shipping companies staff stops working from 12pm while on Friday the staff stops work from 11pm.
He further said that Customs staff are performing their duties rightly, but due to shipping companies new schedule, the importers are facing great hardships regarding clearance of their consignments.
He appealed to the concerned authorities to draw their attention in this particular issue and do the needful in this regard.
