KCCI wants more Chinese investments in uplift projects

KARACHI: Karachi Chamber of Commerce & Industry (KCCI) President Muhammad Haroon Agar has said that Pakistan and China can do wonders through collective economic and commercial activities.

Exchanging views with Consul General of China Excellency Mr Ma Yaou during his visit to KCCI, Haroon Agar urged fresh Chinese investment in energy, infrastructure, metro-railways, mass-transit and dams building projects which are direly needed to uplift economy and will further strengthen Pak-China friendly relationship.

He said that Beijing’s cooperation with Islamabad reached high point with substantial investments from China in Pakistani infra structural expansion, including the noted projects i.e. deep water port in Gawadar and establishment of road and railway link from Gwader to Kasghar via Karakorum Highway.

Consul General of China Excellency Mr Ma Yaou speaking on the occasion stated that China and Pakistan are great time-tested friends. Both countries have been committed to develop closer bilateral relations and further broaden their economic engagement for achieving development goals, he added.

He said that linkage of Gwader Port with Karakorum Highway will support logistics. He hoped that Pakistan’s exports to China will multiply as China is a huge market to showcase brands of Pakistan.

Former KCCI president Anjum Nisar, Senior Vice President Shamim Firpo, Vice President Nasir Mehmood and Managing Committee members were also present there.
