BENGALUR: President of the Bosch Group in India at the annual general meeting of the Bangalore Chamber of Industry & Commerce. A significant section of Karnataka Inc believes it will do the state good if chief minister Siddaramaiah divested his industry portfolio and appointed a separate industry minister. The views came following the stinging criticism of governmental processes by Steffen Berns.
Berns noted that it took Bosch 29 touch points and 19 months to get approvals for electricity for two of its office buildings. Bosch is in the midst of moving its factory in Bengaluru to Bidadi, about 35 km from Bengaluru. Though phase 1 of plant construction is over, electricity connections are yet to come
Berns indicated that if the current problems continue, Bosch may make its future investments outside Karnataka.
