BUDAPEST: Hungaryʼs seasonally-adjusted Purchasing Managers Index (PMI) saw a decrease to 55.1 points in June from the previous month’s 55.2, the Hungarian Association of Logistics, Purchasing and Inventory Management (Halpim), which compiles the index, reported today.

An index value above 50 shows expansion in the manufacturing sector, while a value under 50 signals contraction, Hungarian news agency MTI noted, adding that the index has been over the growth threshold for more than a year. Data by Halpim suggest that among the sub-indices that comprise the PMI, the new orders index rose slightly and was over the 50 threshold. The production volume index fell but was over the 50 threshold for the sixth month in a row, Halpim added.
