Commerce ministry completes preparations for successful review of GSP Plus

ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Commerce Engineer Khurram Dastgir Khan on Wednesday said Ministry of Commerce had completed preparations for a successful review of Generalized System of Preferences (GSP) Plus.

“Despite challenges during last year, Pakistan’s exports to European Countries increased by 20 percent due to the GSP plus status”, the minister said during a meeting with the outgoing German Ambassador to Pakistan Dr Cyrill Nun here.

The German Ambassador said that Germany would continue to support Pakistan regarding the grant of GSP plus status and stressed the need to promote investment and trade between the two countries.

Khurram Dastgir said Germany’s support to Pakistan and its efforts in convincing other countries to support Pakistan for granting of GSP Plus show that it has deep interest in socio economic development of people of Pakistan.

He informed the ambassador that he, alongwith a business delegation would visit Germany where the delegation would meet with different chambers of commerce and industries of Germany.
