SRB collects Rs 49.37b in fiscal year 2014-15

KARACHI: The Sindh Revenue Board (SRB) once again surpassed revenue target of Rs. 49 billion during financial year 2014-15 and collected Rs 49.37 billion.

The spokesperson SRB said in a statement here on Thursday that this represents an increase of Rs. 7.37 billion as compared to Rs.42 billion target of the year 2013-14.

He said that the Sindh Revenue Board has achieved this milestone despite reduction of 3replace sales tax on services rate from 17replace to 14replace. Moreover during last Financial Year 2014-15, SRB registered more than 13,000 tax payers as compared to 7,500 during the year 2013-14.

This remarkable achievement would not have been possible without the trust and confidence of taxpayers and the support from Government of Sindh and all other key stakeholders including trade bodies and international agencies. Credit also goes to relentless efforts, effective monitoring and extraordinary devotion and dedication of SRB staff, the statement added.

It said that the SRB is gradually increasing revenue targets since its inception and has emerged as the largest tax collection authority of the province. It has a target of enhancing its tax receipts amounting to Rs. 100 billion by the end of F.Y 2017. During the FY 2010-11, 2011-12, 2012-13 2013-14; SRB collected 18.28 billion, Rs. 25.01 billion, Rs. 33.65 billion and Rs. 42.48 billion respectively.

The SRB would continue with this endeavour to increase tax collection every year and would leave no stone unturned to provide best of the services and facilities taxpayers, the statement concluded.
