TOKYO: CD Projekt Red declared the next free DLC coming to The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt today. In keeping with free DLCs released each week after the game’s launch, a new quest called “Where the Cat and Wolf Play…” will be released later this week, according to posts on the game’s official social media accounts.

The new quest is No. 13 among 16 free DLCs promised before The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt launched. After several weeks of offering two DLCs each week, the new quest is all by itself this week. Gamespot has the official description of the quest and it is, of course, relatively vague. Rest assured Geralt will be investigating something out of the ordinary, though.

“Explore a forgotten village and discover its terrifying secret. Find out who or what slaughtered its inhabitants and use all your Witcher skills to confront this mysterious force.”

Once the new DLC is added to a player’s game, a new Witcher contact will be available in Oreton where Geralt can start the “Where the Cat and Wolf Play…” quest. With three remaining free DLCs, player can expect a few more weeks of free downloads regardless of whether they are released two at a time or not.

As the Inquisitr reported, CD Projekt Red plans to fully support and focus on The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt for the next two years before starting major work on their next game Cyberpunk 2077. With a handful of free DLCs remaining, players can expect a few paid pieces DLCs as full-fledged expansions. “Hearts of Stone” and “Blood and Wine” can be purchased together for $25, although no individual price has been set yet.

Hearts of Stone” is an adventure with over 10 hours of content for players to consume. Geralt is tasked with a quest from the Man of Glass where he will travel throughout No Man’s Land and Oxenfurt. “Blood and Wine” is a DLC with over 20 hours of gameplay that will debut a new region to the game. The new region, Toussaint, is completely untouched by war bringing the protagonist to a completely setting.

The co-founder of CD Projekt Red urges players to use their own discretion on whether or not to purchase the expansion pass, though. Marcin Iwiński said the following in a press release concerning the upcoming expansions.

“While we’re offering the Expansion Pass now, we want to make one thing clear: don’t buy it if you have any doubts. Wait for reviews or play The Witcher and see if you like it first. As always, it’s your call. “
