Pakistan Cricket Board, UBL Sports Complex defaulters of property tax

KARACHI: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and the United Bank Limited (UBL) Sports Complex are the defaulters of the property tax being collected by the Excise and Taxation Department of the Sindh government, Customs Today has learnt.

 Sources told Customs Today that the PCB located at ST 12 Stadium Road, Gulshan-e-Iqbal had to pay at least Rs 93,785,523 outstanding to it under the head of property tax.

 Moreover, UBL Sports Complex located at ST 14/ Block 15 Federal B Area is also the defaulter of  property tax since past couple of year. The amount outstanding has reached at Rs 33,637,606.

 “The property tax is levied and collected under the Sindh Urban Immovable Property Tax Act, 1958. And a uniform rate of tax is levied on all categories of properties at 25 percent of annual rental value”, sources said.

 The excise and taxation department has formed several committees comprising AETOs to contact the defaulters and persuade them to clear their outstanding dues, sources added.
