LAHORE: After her bail application was dismissed by Lahore High Court’s (LHC) last week, supermodel Ayyan is all set to seek bail from Supreme Court. Her defense counsel Sardar Lateef Khan Khosa will challenge the bail in Supreme Court of Pakistan.

Ayyan was arrested by custom authorities on at the Islamabad Airport and moved to Adiala Penitentiary for supposedly sneaking $500,000 to Dubai. In his arguments Khosa stated that Ayyan did not have a boarding pass with her and without boarding pass there can be no money laundering case.

On the other hand, the government lawyer argued that the supermodel was about to flee from country with huge money. She wanted to take the money to Dubai and that is the reason she exchanged rupees into dollars.

Ayyan had filed a bail plea in the LHC against her detention by customs officials in the ongoing currency smuggling case in Rawalpindi Customs Court. Earlier a Rawalpindi Customs Court extended Ayyan’s judicial remand till July 6, 2015 and directed senior lawyers of the accused to attend the next hearing. The model has been sent on judicial remand at least thirteen times since she was first detained by customs officials.

Ayyan Ali was arrested from Islamabad’s Benazir Bhutto International Airport on March 14 on charges of money laundering.
