LAHORE: Pakistani importers have nothing to import from India as there is no demand of Indian vegetables in Pakistani markets nowadays.
Sources informed Customs Today that at Land Freight Unit Wagha, the Pakistani importers are not willing to import vegetables and fruits from India during this season. Trade between Pakistan and India continues but Pakistan is not importing vegetables since the last 10 days because Pakistan is producing enough vegetables to meet the demand of Lahore and other cities.
Meanwhile, Pakistan is exporting cement, gypsum and other relevant items to India but it also became at lowest level during one year. On a query by Customs Today, a source said that it is a routine matter between the two neighboring countries and every year trade becomes at the lowest level from May to August due to hot weather and production of local vegetables.
