MARANG: Police arrested two people, a wife and her male friend for drug trafficking and seized 1020 methamphetamine pills and 50 grams of syabu worth RM27,800 from them during a raid at a rented house at Taman Al Amin in Bukit Payong here, on Monday night.

Acting district police chief Deputy Superintendent Mohd Adli Mat Daud said the duo were a 38-year-old woman, who owns a food stall and a mother of four, and her 24-year-old male friend. Mohd Adli said the two suspects were together in a room during the 11.30pm raid. “Checks showed that the pills and syabu were hidden on a rack in the room,” he said adding that both were believed to be active in distributing drugs at Bukit Payong and Marang.
