ANF seizes drugs worth Rs 440 million, arrests five accused

ISLAMABAD: The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) has successfully seized 160kg drugs worth of Rs 440 million and arrested five accused during different operations in Rawalpindi, Peshawar and Turbat.

According to details, the Anti-Narcotics Force conducted different operations in Rawalpindi, Peshawar and Turbat and seized 160kg drugs worth of Rs 440 million. Sources said that during the operation on GT Road Rawalpindi near Hasan Abdal Morr, the ANF seized two kilogrammes of heroin and arrested Tauqeer Ahmed and Asif Iqbal, residents of Rawalpindi. Meanwhile, during other operations, the Rawalpindi ANF seized a courier parcel that was being dispatched to Holland and recovered 500 grammes of heroin.

The ANF officials also conducted a successful raid in Turbat and recovered 147kg hashish and 4kg heroin from a deserted building, besides arresting a smuggler named Javid near Khanewal and recovering 1kg hashish from him during an operation.

Meanwhile, during routine search, the ANF recovered 1kg amphetamine (ice) from a suspect named Ajmal Khan, a resident of Mardan, at the Bacha Khan International Airport, Peshawar.
