Mianwali ASO impounds non-duty paid Toyota Corolla

FAISALABAD: The Customs Anti-Smuggling Organisation Mainwali impounded a non-duty paid Toyota Corolla valued at Rs 1.02 million including duty/taxes amounting to Rs 500,000.

ASO following credible information conveyed through Additional Collector Omer Bin Zafar Chatta, conducted raid to hold the smuggled vehicle. It intercepted the vehicle near Musa Khail Pindi Road, Mianwali.

ASO staff asked the driver, Abdul Zeeiaf to produce any documentary evidence showing the legal import and lawful possession of the vehicle. But he could not produce any documents on which customs take the vehicle in its custody, besides serving a notice upon the accused person.

After a considerable passage of time no one appeared before the seizing agency to claim ownership of seized of, however customs impounded the Toyota Corolla and sent report to adjudication for further legal action.

ASO team comprising Inspector Azhar Hussain Jafri, Nazir Hussain Jafri, Muhammad Saifullah, Muhammad Ghulam Mohyuddin and other participated in raid.
