RAWALPINDI: Over 125,000 passengers on an average are travelling daily through Metro Buses and traffic problems at Murree Road have also been reduced at maximum extent said Chairman Pakistan Metro Bus Project Implementation Committee, Muhammad Hanif Abbasi.
He said that Metro Bus Service is an international standard mass transit system equipped with all modern facilities.
Metro Bus Service is providing comfortable and tremendous travelling facilities on very cheaper rates to the passengers in respectable way, he said adding that the citizens of Rawalpindi and Islamabad are amazed that such a big mega project has been completed in a very short span of time of just 12 months.
Hanif Abbasi said that this mega project through which common citizens are availing high quality travelling facilities also reflected the government’s efforts for uplifting the standard of the citizens.
Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif and Chief Minister Punjab Muhmmad Shahbaz Sharif’s keen interest helped in completion of Metro Bus Project within period of one year, he added.
He said that travelling of the citizens massively through Metro Bus Service itself reflected the usefulness, utility and success of this project.
Metro Buses cover 23 kilometres track within about 50 minutes from first to end station. Metro Bus Project has also further increased the environmental as well as aesthetic beauty of Rawalpindi and Islamabad.
