Tripping of 220KV transmission line: Karachi suffers third power breakdown

KARACHI: The biggest city of the country has suffered the third massive breakdown in five days as no power supply in most of the areas of the metropolis since Saturday 10pm.

According to K-Electric, tripping of the 220 KV PIPRI/ICI transmission line disrupted supply to ten grid stations. The affected areas included Defence, Clifton, North Karachi, Nazimabad Block 4, Liaquatabad, Azizabad, F.B Area, Gulbahar, Kharadar, Lyari, Garden, Drigh Road, Gulshan-e-Hadeed, Bin Qasim , Shah Faisal Town, Malir Khokhrapar, Korangi and several other areas.
