LAHORE: The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Monday summoned provincial secretary finance for July 22 on a contempt petition against non-provision of judicial allowance and adhoc relief to court employees despite court’s order.
The single bench comprising Justice Syed Mansoor Ali Shah was hearing the contempt petition filed by Syed Riaz Ali Zaidi and others.
During the hearing, petitioner’s counsel submitted that Punjab government’s intra-court appeal against orders of the court for payments of judicial allowance and adhoc relief had been dismissed by a LHC division bench but still, the authorities concerned had not complied with the court orders.
He further told the court about stance adopted by the finance department in a letter on the issue.
At this, the court summoned the provincial finance secretary for July 22 and adjourned the hearing.
