NEW DELHI: It was found that some of the Instagram users suddenly gained hundreds and thousands of new followers, which hinted at a possible hacking of site. However, Instagram confirmed that it was a bug and not a hack attack. It is now working to fix the bug and make the counts accurate, Tech Crunch reports.

Once the issue is fixed, your follower count will drop. It must be noted that as there weren’t actual people following or unfollowing users on Instagram, the change will only be in the number shown on people’s profiles.
