Hyderabad ASO confiscates smuggled smart phones, accessories worth Rs 6.8m

HYDERABAD: The Customs Anti Smuggling Organisation Hyderabad, in a joint operation with Rangers, has seized 654 sets of smuggled smart mobile phone and its accessories valued at Rs 6.83 million involving duty/taxes amounting to Rs 1.54 million.

As per details, the ASO team following the instructions of Hyderabad Customs Collector Ahmad Mujtaba Memon and under the supervision of Additional Collector Omer Shafique conducted raid with the help of Rangers to seize the smuggled items.

The officials intercepted a bus bearing Registration No. P-1436 Service coming Peshawar to Karachi of M/s Daewoo Coach at Jamshoro, Hyderabad tool plaza and recovered foreign origin smart mobile phone sets including 455 sets of Motorola, 142 sets of Samsung and 57 sets of HTC.

The ASO also recovered cell phone accessories including 3,380 pieces of charger lead, 2,270 mobile batteries 15 pieces of headphone, 2,980 pieces of LED protector and other items.
