CANBERRA: The Australian Federal Police (AFP) has conducted a joint raid with Victoria Police at a business in Geelong today but refused to reveal the nature of the operation.
The AFP said “as the matter is currently ongoing, it is not appropriate to comment further”. Officers attended the offices of the business StartupCloud, on Ryrie Street, in central Geelong.
It is a co-working business, where a group of self-employed people share office space, equipment and ideas. Company chief executive officer Todd Hubers was at home when the raid was launched. He said they were cooperating with police but he was unable to discuss the operation.
“The business is not implicated – myself included,” he said. “I was unaware of the scale of the operation, so it was quite a surprise. “It was quite a relaxed mood inside.”
